Project Description
In-home medical care is intended for immobile, semi-mobile and people with movement difficulties, based on their physical, emotional and social needs. It includes all procedures of general and special medical care for which a nurse is allowed to do on her own, as by recommendation of a doctor.
In-home medical care is an integral part of primary health care and is being implemented by certified nurses in collaboration with treating doctor, health visitor and head nurse of the institution.
Medical condition of a patient is being countinously monitored and, when needed, treating doctor or health visitor is contacted.
Procedures that we apply:
Materials sampling for laboratory tests
Urinary bladder catheterisation
ECG and Holter ECG recording
Chronic wound treatment
- Prevention of long-term complications of inactivity
- Help and education of the family about personal hygiene of the patient
- Bathing immovable or semi-movable patient in the bed or in the bath
- Stoma toilet and hygiene
- Cylster
- Applying parenteral therapy (except antibiotics) with doctor's surveillence
- Applying local and peroral therapy
- Applying oxygen therapy
- Placing/changing nasogastric tube, tube feeding
- Measurement and registration of vital functions, blood or urine glycaemia level measurement
- Palliative care
